Planning

This is an analysis of a existing music magazine the purpose of doing this peice of work was to see where they positiond everything how big the images were and basically the balance of the front cover. I would then be able to look back on this and perhaps useit to include or avoid when designing my magazine. As you can see on the screenshot I have comented on almost everything.

Dafont.com

This was the website that I used to gather all of my different fonts, I think this website was really helpful as the fonts it had were alot better than the default ones that were offered in Photoshop. Below are some of the fonts I used (After effects were added):

Photoshop tools (Layers)

Something that I had to get used to while using photoshop was that you could only edit or move something that has its layer selected, this can have ups and downs, downs being that if I forget to deselect the layer then I could move it accidently, this may be minor but I spent alot of time especially on my masthead getting it perfectly into position, so then I would accidently move it due to the laters and this became frustrating. The advantages of using layers is that you can edit something e.g. erase an edge off of an item and you wouldn't have to take in onto a separate document to edit you could do it on the same page without effecting anything else.

Photoshop tools (Blending Options)

The blending options on Photoshop allowed me to make my masthead eye catching from the picture on the right you can see that it completely transforms the text making it a whiole lot more exciting. The options I used were 'Drop shadow' 'Outer glow' 'Inner glow' and 'Inner shadow'.

Photoshop tools (Cropping)

The magnetic lasso was aother image editing tool that I used, this was however time consuming and a little harder to use thatn the other tools. You basically had to go aroun the edge of the picture and cut out what you wanted the end result is well worth it, I used this tool alot while constructing my music magazine.

Photoshop tools (Cropping)

Another tool that I used alot was the eraser tool, I would normally use this tool after I had used the magic wand tool as it can get rid of everything left behind by the magic wand tool, I used his tool for the most part on hair and the edge of images.

Photoshop tools (Cropping)

As I have said before I have used the magic tool, this is the one of the tools I have used to edit my images. The effect that this tool gives me is that you are able to get rid of the background from a picture and just have the person that you want. I think this is a really good tool but can be complicated to use in areas such as hair.
