FRONT COVER

Whilst making the front cover on photo shop I learnt to use a lot of tools, for example to edit the picture I had to use 3 tools
  1. Magnetic Lasso
  2. Magic Wand
  3. Eraser
These tools took a while to get use to, and the image itself took a long time to go around it. But the outcaome was good and worth the time toaken to complete it.

  1. i like how you have set out the masthead on the record, i think it is really cleverly done. i also like the font stlyes you have used and i like your layout. I'm not to sure about the colour scheme thought i don't know if the orange was the right shade to use with the green and blue you have used.

  2. The masthead looks really good, and it stands out. I also think the way you set out the strapline amongst the masthead is good. The colour of the font is good, however i think the picture in the corner and the font around it looks out of place, because of the blue and red. It might look more in place if the background colour was different.

  3. Matt, without trying to criticise too much I think your final piece is very well put together and looks professional therefore you should be proud. The task in hand was to make a music magazine, which you've clearly done, it's just from a music magazine front cover I want to be excited and wowed when I see it, yours doesn't do that for me unfortunately. The use of a yellow background gives a soft vibe and keeps the front cover looking calm and not loud and exciting, whereas a music magazine should be 'in your face' if you like. Again the sell lines have a bluey green colour to them which makes them calm and relax.

I think your music magazine has been very well constructed but just lacks a bit of the wow factor. A more wild variety of colours or a more funky font style could improve this, though overall the final piece has been put together well.

  4. This is a nice front cover Matt I like your use of colours they all work well with one another. I like the way that you have two titles, one that goes across the top and the other bends around the vinyl disc. I also like your coverline at the bottom as it advertises another artist give the front cover a bit more depth to it.

  5. A really good strong front cover! I like the colour of the writing which is the blue and green but im not sure that it goes really well with the orange but then looking at it, the magazine does look strong with the orange. i really like the top of the magazine where the cd has the title of in. That is really good and gives it a good effect. It really does make the masthead stand out. Overall though the front cover looks really good well done :)!!

  6. Matt this looks really good all the pages: front cover, double page spread and contents page. The double page spread looks very sophisticated and proffessional and I like the theme of the note book background on the double page spread and contents page. Also the fonts used are great, they really stand out and give the magazine a great look. The space is used well as there are no gaps onthe page. It all Looks really Good!!

  7. Matt, I think love the way that you have put the masthead onto the disc! It looks really professional and well thought of idea. Your photo is well placed and it is well taken, as the three band members are all looking towards the front and it catches your eye. Maybe you could have used more smaller images on your front cover like giving you sneak peaks to other people in the magazine but other than that one small comment, it looks really nice!

  8. Your front cover looks really good, i like the way you have put the masthead onto a disc, and the way you've bent the word so that it fits the shape of the disk. The colours are bright, and very eyecatching. The picture looks really good over lapping the title, it makes the people in the picture look intimidating. However, i do think you could of filled the front cover out a bit more to give it the finished look.
